Weeknote #17

My week away from the newsletter - travel, music, movies and the rest.
An abandoned toy doll (Naked), in front of a train departure screen.
Nope, I don't know either...

Updates

A shorter working week here in Ireland as we get ready to enjoy the Easter weekend, so slightly busier at work as we try and cram five days into four!

I spent some time last weekend launching an Instagram account to support the newsletter, and posting some graphics to find new subscribers. Follow me there for more daily updates to the site.

I also spent the morning celebrating Record Store Day 2025 last Saturday, it was great to see my favourite shop packed out with punters and I managed to pick up some great vinyl.

I kept my reading routine in place and finished Ping by Andrew Brodsky, a useful book that outlines some great insights into Virtual Communication. I wrote a full review here which I hope is useful for some.

Releasing (and listening to) a three hour album is a huge undertaking, but I have been enjoying the new collection from the active Nicolas Jaar this week.

Archivos de Radio Piedras is a substantial collection of lengthy tracks that take excellent electronica from the Piedras albums and then overlay with samples from various radio stations and other found sound.

It's a hypnotic listen, in places relaxing and gentle and in others skittering and unsettling. I absolutely love it.

Highly Recommended listen.
