🔈 Stuff to Listen to...

🎧 A couple of weeks ago, I went to see the mighty Depeche Mode in Dublin, it was a magical night. The support act was someone I have enjoyed on the radio, but never really listened to in detail. I had a chance to correct that this week with the new album from Nadine Shah. On the night at 3Arena, she was an electrifying presence, using a support slot like a headliner and engaging a huge crowd.

Filthy Underneath is the fifth album from the British singer-songwriter and is a rousing, howling collection that is definitely worth a listen.

There are some interesting influences here, big anthemic drums and keyboards, coupled with some intimate lyrics (Topless Mother). I particularly like the eastern influences on Food for Fuel and the stomping drum line of Greatest Dancer.

I also love the fact that you can hear Nadines north-east accent shining through, its good to hear a singer that hasn't affected a completely mid-Atlantic drawl.

Highly recommended album - this will be everywhere soon.
