#312 - The Values Finder
Two years ago, I wrote one of my most read articles - this week it becomes free, interactive and can help define your next steps.
Hey friend. It's great to see you, a big welcome to new readers this week. I have something exciting to share today - a new site that I hope you'll find useful. Let me know what you think, Matt
Stuff I've Written
- The Values Finder. An exercise I use with coaching clients, rebuilt as a free tool. If you give it a try, save the results, because the next few posts are about what you do with the report.
- From the Archive: Stop Overthinking Career Decisions. Use this Test. A quick test for when you are going round in circles. Works better once you know what you are testing against.
Stuff I'm Reading
- Three conversations managers must have. Life story, long term vision, a plan. A performance review is none of them.
- Most tech revolutions made work worse. PCs, email and smartphones each raised the expectation instead of freeing the time.
- We automated the jobs that used to make managers. Entry level work used to be the training ground. We have about five years to find out what replaces it.
- Stop making a five year plan. A long plan only extrapolates your past. Grow the adjacent possible instead.
- Ten years of teaching time management. The people who changed kept practising. The rest kept buying courses.
Stuff I'm Linking
- BIGWORDS.PAGE. Turn any screen into a sign, a countdown or a slide deck. Completely private and very useful!
- Ordinary Abundance. I enjoyed this. Walk through a flat, object by object, reading what people said when each one was still a miracle.
Finally. Hole Punch. Punch black holes into space and slingshot your ship home on their gravity. This is a beautiful diversion.
