Hey, Matt here!

Welcome to 2024. I've deliberately stayed out of your inbox to ensure a full disconnect. The list will start again next week, but I want to check-in and wish everyone a Happy New Year!

I wrote last year about my intentions for 2023; Simplify, Gratitude and Energy. As I reflect on 2023, I'm feeling good about where I ended up.

This year, my intentions are Consistency. Growth and Health.

Theme #1 - Consistency

I'm good at showing up every day. My newsletter is 168 editions old. In 2023 I made a playlist by adding a track every day. I keep a daily gratitude journal.

In 2024, I want to show up consistently across a wider range of activities, I have a long list of ideas, and the only way I'll achieve them is by being relentlessly focused on action.

Theme #2 - Growth

For the things I want to do in 2024, I want to get BETTER at them. Growth comes from improvement x consistency. By practicing, I'll grow my skills.

I want to be become a better writer, and I have set myself the challenge of writing & sharing one new thing every day. My newsletter will remain the only thing I send out to a list, but I'll share daily notes on the blog.

Theme #3 - Health

This one is more personal, but i don't mind holding myself accountable here. I'll be working on my health in 2024. I'm in 'sniper alley', and I'm not going to outrun anyone.

I started this intention in November, and I'm making progress. I'll share some of the details as I go.

No Resolutions

Once again, I'm not making resolutions. I'm setting my intentions for the year and creating habits and systems that will support them. I'll update here.
