Updates

A week in Austin. The kind of business trip where the real value isn't in the meetings (though they were good) but in the time spent around them, that you cannot replicate via Zoom. Also made a cowboy hat while I was there. Not ironically. It fits well. I shipped it home, so I hope it makes it!

Last Sunday before I flew out, we went to see The House Always Wins at the Pavilion in Dun Laoghaire. A play by Mick Flannery with Tommy Tiernan in the cast. Really enjoyed it.

Two films watched on the flight. Bugonia, and One Battle After Another. Both worth your time if you're looking for something that isn't a sequel or a franchise extension.

Quiz night Wednesday. I missed it due to the time difference, but the team managed another narrow win to close out the season. That's back-to-back narrow wins now. A few weeks off before the next season starts.

We're still perfecting coffee. The Lelit is producing good results but the gap between "good" and "perfect" is smaller than it sounds and takes tinkering to close. We're getting good though!

Reading. Loves Executioner by Irvin Yalom - a recommendation from a friend, Therapy case studies written like short stories. Not light, but hard to put down.

This weeks recommendation is from Stuff favourites - The Black Dog.

Electronica stalwarts from Sheffield Black Dog have released Loud Ambient 2 - a sequel piece that continues the slightly more rhythm forward work of the first release. These are inspired by Rothko, and deliver a lovely colourful sound alongside shimmering electronics. Love this.

Highly Recommended.
