#61 - From Spain

Updates

I’m nearing the end of my 5 week recharge from work, an amazing benefit that accrues after five years with Meta. I’m open my last few days here in Spain.

We went on a road trip, visiting Cordoba and Almeria - two lovely cities with a mix of Moorish and Christian architecture, and tons of great food. Even in March, the weather was glorious and I got to take some fun pictures. Between the two cities, we drove through endless Olive trees, as far as the eye could see in every direction - at some point we’ll go back and visit that area.

Travelling without a computer has been nice, and has given me space to think about some new ideas and experiments to try when I get home. I’ve kept my website up to date using my iPad, which has been useful - but mostly I have Been trying to stay away from screens and I haven‘t looked at work email/chats at all.

Most other projects are on hold while I‘m on this trip and away from the ‘command hub’!

Reading. Dance Move by Wendy Erskine, a collection of short stories.

This weeks recommendation is actually playing in the background now as I write my weeknote.

‘Paradises’ is the new album by Ladytron, who carefully tread the line between dream pop and electronica and have put together another great album.

Joining together poppy and accessible songs, with excellent analogue electronics, this is super listenable and highly recommended:

(My usual tool for linking music seems to be dead - so using a Spotify link this week, you’ll find Paradises on every music streamer)
