Updates

Well, the calendar may not have been so crazy - but I've kept myself busy with a couple of really interesting projects.

At work, I've been experimenting with a new productivity setup. I'm using Claude Code and a closed vault of files organised using the PARA setup. Letting Claude learn about me, my job and my working style I've quickly developed a second brain that acts as a thinking and accountability partner. It has been super interesting watching Claude join the dots and learn about me this week. By adding Obsidian and then Super Whisper into the mix I have an easy way to work with the files and a fast way to interface.

I'm thinking about a detailed blog post for this, but I need to make sure that I don't share any work information while I do it.

At home, I've been plodding along with some new projects and some writing. Once Posted is now fully live, and I love how it has turned out. Its an elegant way of sharing this ephemera, and I'm looking forward to adding more content.

And then, on the site I implemented a feeds page, which will act as a kind of live newsfeed reader. It's inspired by a post I read this week. I have included some of my favourite site feeds, and in a page accessed by a token - I can mark articles as read so they disappear. I'll definitely write a blog post on how I did this one.

Finally - my quiz team lost on Wednesday night, we're still third in our division but we could use a win next week to keep our momentum.

Still Reading. Every One Still Here by Liadan Ní Chuinn - an excellent book of Short Stories from an Irish Author.

My recommendation this week is an usual collection of tracks that piqued my interest from the title alone.

HERZOG: A Retrospective is a set of five pieces by ambient producers d'Voxx. Each of these is clearly inspired by the film work of Werner Herzog, and the sense of connection between the songs and the films is excellent.

I particularly love the Fitzcarraldo inspired 'Impossible Monolith' which has an intense central passage that feels very close to the pivotal scene in the film. This is my favourite film of all-time, and so the music is especially resonant for me.

This is a terrific album, highly recommended:
