Updates

It has been dreary all week - I'm grateful for a little bit of dry sky as I reflect on the week.

This week I've been working on two main things which I've enjoyed:

  1. A long form essay - I've never written one before for the site, but I've had this in mind for a while and so I'm pleased with what I've put together. I'm currently figuring out the best way to publish this and I'll share when it's live.
  2. Some plumbing - I've been investing a bit of time using some new tools and figuring out ways to use them to lessen the effort of some of the housekeeping that goes on with my projects (and other life admin). Automating elements of what I do here will leave more time for writing.

Other than that, I've also been investing a bit of time in increasing my social media about the site to keep a steady flow of new subscribes (welcome!)

I also bought a tiny humidifier for my desk at work to try and counter the dryness of the aircon at work, I've used it a few days and so far, so good. I recommend.

Still Reading. Every One Still Here by Liadan Ní Chuinn - an excellent book of Short Stories from an Irish Author.

During one of the recent stormy weekends, we watched a new series on Amazon Prime called Steal starring Sophie Turner. All the way through the episodes, I was impressed with the soundtrack - which I was convinced was by Blanck Mass - until I looked it up.

Martin Phipps has worked on numerous soundtracks, but this work for Steal is the first that stands out. The electronica here amped up the tension and filled scenes with anxious energy. Away from the visuals, this is a really good listen and i've enjoyed it a few times this week as a standalone album.

Highly Recommended
