Updates

A super busy week, with barely a moment free in the evenings.I saw some live music on Saturday night last week (more below). Monday was spent on the winning side of a Dublin Quiz League fixture, and Tuesday night I had an excellent meal with some colleagues at Library Street.

This weekend, we're in London checking out come exhibitions, more on that to come!

Reading. Nick Cleggs 'How to fix the Internet'. Still getting through this, reading progress is still not consistent, I need to protect my time a bit more.

Live Music

Last Sunday I took my first visit to the Grand Social in Dublin to see local band The Prongs. I recently discovered their Psychogeography EP and ordered a copy on vinyl via Bandcamp. During a quick email exchange with their singer, John, he mentioned the live show.

I enjoyed seeing them live, I expected a duo but there were five on stage and the show was excellent. I got tohear some tracks I didn't know and the visuals that accompanied were great.

A few pictures from the show:

This week, my recommendation is the stunning new album Tranquiliser from Oneohtrix Point Never, aka Daniel Lopatin.

It's another collection of beautiful, mostly ambient electronica - which manages to be both relaxing and unsettling in places - but always prefectly listenable.

I anticipate this will end up on some end of year lists, excellent stuff.

Highly recommended.
