Stuff Mixtape #36 is an even dozen of tunes that sum-up April 2025, taking us from spring toward a summer of sunshine.
Here's why each of these incredible tunes made it into my playlist.
- Looking Back like Hours for Fools (Octophonic Remix) - Test Card | 100% the best Uncle Albert sample I've heard, beautiful electronica.
- L'intranquilitiรฉ - Kazy Lambist & Lulu Gainsbourg | Fabulous collaboration between two vital voices.
- Oxygen - Anika | Still giving me strong Nico vibes, loving Anikas current output.
- Pure Love - DJ Koze & Damon Albarn | German Deep House DJ meets voice for hire Damon Albarn on this lazy, summer vibe track.
- Running/Planning - CMAT | Fantastic new track from CMAT, could listen to the "I'm not good enough for you..." line over and over.
- Keep me in Mind - Kelly Finnigan & Renaldo Domino | What a belter of a soul duet between two amazing Colemine artists. Superb.
- Year of the Snake - Arcade Fire | Nice comeback tune from the Canadian ensemble that remain on my bucket list for a live show.
- Henry, come on - Lana Del Rey | Not straying much from an excellent pathway. Looking forward to seeing her in July.
- In the Moment (Adriatique Mix) - Rufus du Sol | Not my usual bag, but great piece of desert house from the Australian band. Will feature on dancefloors.
- Far Away - Martha Wainwright with Garth | 20th anniversary rerelease, but a beautiful version of this ballad.
- Bam Bam - Sister Nancy | No idea how this came into my head this month, but had to give it a listen. Full on Summer Vibes!
- Stalag 17 - Ansel Collins | And one thing led to another, and now we're fully ready for the arrival of the sunshine.
