#35 - From Dublin
Updates
A pretty busy week for me, with two live shows this weekend alongside my Wedding Anniversary and a mild cold!
Friday saw us off to Collins Barracks in Dublin to see The Human League, a favourite band of mine when I was growing up. They were a lot of fun, Phil Oakey's voice is terrific, and they played a great selection of hits and a couple of deeper cuts from their journey.
Saturday was altogether different, with everyones favourite sad dad, Matt Berninger (from The National) at Vicar Street. A superb set made up of solo work, a couple of covers from The National and even a cover of Blue Monday at the end. Support from from the excellent Ronboy, who has collaborated with Berninger a few times recently.
A few snaps from across the two shows.

Recommended Music
My musical recommendation this week is a short EP from Dublin based band 'The Prongs'.
Psychogeoggraphy is four tracks of quite intense music that at times put me in mind of Sleaford Mods or even Fontaines DC. Simple sounding motorik loops of electronic beats with spoken word / sprechgesang vocals.
It's a completely orginal sound that is worth a listen - I've ordered a vinyl copy of the EP as I think it could be quite collectable moving forward.
Highly recommended.
