*Welcome to a new week. Before we start, I wonder if you could do me a favour and share this week's edition with a friend and encourage them to* [*join us on our journey of curiosity*](https://www.mattrutherford.co.uk/?ref=mattrutherford.co.uk#/portal/signup)*.*

Each week, I seek out great content to support **our** personal growth. I’ll couple that with some links that I know you’ll find interesting. Elsewhere, you can find my [daily notes here](https://www.mattrutherford.co.uk/tag/daily-notes/), and I’m [posting on Threads](https://www.threads.net/@matt.rutherford?ref=mattrutherford.co.uk) as well.

Thanks for joining me - now, onto the list!

**Monday Motivation**. Let this week be the one where you [complete a mid-year review of your goals.](https://www.mattrutherford.co.uk/how-to-conduct-a-mid-year-review-of-your-goals-a-step-by-step-guide/) This is the perfect week to sit down and reflect on the first half of the year. If you haven’t been working towards something, [I also have you covered. ](https://www.mattrutherford.co.uk/five-proven-tips-for-achieving-personal-and-career-success/)

**Decisions**. [Are you suffering from FOBO?](https://nesslabs.com/fobo?ref=mattrutherford.co.uk) The *affliction of abundance* may mean you suffer from the Fear of a Better Option. This will impact the way that you make decisions. *This resonates with me, as someone who spends ages choosing website colour schemes, or tools for a project.*

**AI.** [Five ‘a-ha’ ways that AI can help solve some of your work problems.](https://www.charterworks.com/women-defining-ai-tips/?ref=mattrutherford.co.uk) Some excellent ideas, along with prompts that you can re-use and edit to make them work for your challenge. *I really like the idea of using AI as thinking partner for a difficult challenge. I will definitely be testing that.*

**Stuck**. [Here’s how to make the most of your job.](https://www.truity.com/blog/feeling-stuck-your-job-heres-how-make-most-it-while-preparing-something-better?ref=mattrutherford.co.uk) Even if you feel stuck in your current role, there are ways to optimise for a future change. The current market [doesn’t have a huge amount of fluidity](https://www.businessinsider.com/economic-outlook-recession-forecast-job-hiring-expectations-inflation-soft-landing-2024-1?ref=mattrutherford.co.uk), so some of the suggestions here are really useful.

**Midweek**. [I LOVE this.](https://teuxdeux.com/blog/lilloerdag-why-you-need-a-midweek-break?ref=mattrutherford.co.uk) The Lilloerdag is the Swedish idea of a ‘little Saturday’ that occurs midweek. A tiny break to get you through the working week. I play in an [online quiz](https://quizcentral.net/qc/Online%5FQuiz%5FLeague%5FUK?ref=mattrutherford.co.uk) on Wednesday evening which seems to fit the description of a Lilloerdag.

**Productivity**. [Tips designed by a neuroscientist.](https://www.marieclaire.co.uk/life/health-fitness/productivity-tips?ref=mattrutherford.co.uk) All common sense, but great to see the scientific explanations behind.

**Sleep.** I have been wearing an [Oura ring](https://ouraring.com/?ref=mattrutherford.co.uk) to help track and optimise my sleep for six months now, and I’ve seen some improvements in my sleep patterns. Subtle changes in the time I go to sleep have reaped huge rewards, something they describe as [finding your chronotype](https://www.sleepfoundation.org/how-sleep-works/chronotypes?ref=mattrutherford.co.uk). Now, science tells us that you can also [optimise your working schedule based on your chronotype.](https://www.newsweek.com/chronoworking-expert-reveals-most-productive-schedule-1884552?ref=mattrutherford.co.uk)

**Calm**. [A simple flowchart of solutions to help you feel calm.](https://www.instagram.com/p/C2kgkCBuoLa/?ref=mattrutherford.co.uk) No complicated hacks here, just the solution you need at the right moment.

**Care**. [It’s just work](https://dev.to/netcat5679/it-is-just-work-3k0k?ref=mattrutherford.co.uk). I was coaching someone this week who is struggling with being on the edge of burnout. During the meeting and another chat I had, [I thought of this article](https://dev.to/netcat5679/it-is-just-work-3k0k?ref=mattrutherford.co.uk), it is JUST work. *Try and take good care of yourself.*

**Mindfulness**. [Ten questions to help check in with yourself.](https://www.calm.com/blog/check-in-with-yourself?ref=mattrutherford.co.uk) I think we’re all pretty bad at doing this. #5 and #7 are powerful questions that will increase your sense of wellbeing.

**Notes**. [This list of 99 life notes is lovely.](https://slrncl.com/notes?ref=mattrutherford.co.uk) Some beautiful thoughts contained here.

**Finally**. [A daily game for music fans.](https://www.pasquiindustry.com/games/jasbiac/?ref=mattrutherford.co.uk) Jasbiac shows you three album covers, all you need to do is guess the style of music. Nowhere near as easy as it sounds!

🎧 This week, I'm sharing #26 in my [monthly series of Mixtapes](https://www.mattrutherford.co.uk/tag/mixtape/), featuring another batch of random tunes that have been in my orbit.

There is some fantastic music this month, including the sound of young Dublin from pigbaby, some Japanese post-rock wizardry and the continued resurgence of Kim Gordon and her dark, grinding ECPR.

It's a great hour of music - and I hope you enjoy listening as much as I enjoyed pulling it together.
