### Updates

Its been a few weeks, and while I don't have any excuse - I do have a few reasons.

After being laid off in August - I took a bit of a break, and focused on the newsletter and writing but reduced my weekly commitments a bit. Now, I'm working towards starting my own business, and I've spent the last few weeks building some of the tools I want to bring with me.

The first of those is [The Values Finder](https://thevaluesfinder.com/?ref=mattrutherford.co.uk), and if you've read the newsletter you'll know that this is an interactive version of a tool I enjoy using with coaching clients and now I've made it available for anyone to try.

Elsewhere, I've been getting used to the rhythm of not working, keeping myself busy and building a routine that allows me to get good work done. I'll update you all in a few weeks of what I'm working towards and how I can help you if needed.

The quiz team is halfway through the autumn (fall) season, and we're having a pretty good run of things - not to jinx anything!

Finally - I'm going back to school this week, I'll be doing a diploma in Team Coaching from Kingstown College here in Dublin. I'm excited to learn some new skills and meet my fellow students.

**Reading**. I recently finished 'The Hour of the Predator' by Guiliano Da Empoli, who wrote the movie, 'The Wizard of the Kremlin'. Its an excellent collection of encounters with politicians and tech billionaires who seem to have so much sway on the world. I also finished Cory Doctorows new book, 'The Reverse Centaurs Fuide to Life after AI' - some thoughts coming on that shortly.

### Recommended Music

This is always the bit that people seem to miss the most - and I haven't stopped listening to new music.

Friendship Survival Guide is a collaboration between two titans of neo-classical and ambient music. Adam Wiltzie (Winged Victory for the Sullen) and the late Johann Johannsson worked on this before the icelandic composer passed away in 2018\.

This is superb, full of grand sweeping sounds and contemplative composition. Post humous records always leave me a bit worried that they will diminish the work I enjoyed before the artistes passing - but this is safe and secure outside that concern.

Highly Recommended.
